A fresh look at typography
During his studies in graphic design, Felix Ackermann developed a visual communication system, perspectival type – a typographical exploration within a three dimensional environment. Perspectival type works within a 'cube-like' rigid grid, in which suspended shapes form different latin letterforms and words depending on whether the structure is viewed from above, the side or front.
After being approached by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, Felix developed 'peace' with the help of chalk. The peace structure combines latin as well as arabic scripts to spell out the words 'peace' and 'al-salam' (arabic for peace) from two different vantage points.
Felix has continued to investigate and explore the topic of typography within a three-dimensional environment and has spoken on the topic at typography day, an international typography conference in ahmedabad, india. 'peace' was an integral part of his presentation.
